Internering
Op donderdag 10 januari 2013 veroordeelde het Europees Hof voor de Rechten van de Mens de Belgische Staat in drie dossiers die ik voor geesteszieken die in de gevangenis werden opgesloten na hun internering had ingediend. Daarmee komt het aantal veroordelingen van de Belgische Staat op 6. Belangrijk was dat het EHRM vaststelde dat België in één dossier art 3 van het Verdrag had overtreden, het verbod op foltering, onmenselijke en vernederende behandeling. Dat is zowat de ergste veroordeling die je als land kan oplopen. Hopelijk komt er nu eindelijk schot in de zaak.
